The Clinton Speech
There is little doubt that former President Bill Clinton’s speech at the Democratic National Convention last night ignited the audience. It was one of the best political speeches I’ve heard in a long time. What a relief from the bland and lie filled garbage that dripped like acid on the attendees of the Republican National Convention. Clinton presented facts, figures, policy and praise for the job President Obama has done so far. Although he did point out the obstructionist policies of the Republicans in Congress, he did so without the intense hate the Republicans showed at their convention.
What else did he accomplish with his speech? He gave us back the optimistic feeling we had lost in the doom and gloom era of the G. W. Bush years. He gave us back faith in ourselves, faith in our country and faith in the future of the country. He made it okay to love the United States and all of her people again. And he did so without the codes of race, religion and adverse the Republicans have used in political campaigns since the presidential election of 2000.
The Democrats know how to throw a convention. What a change from the huge yawn of the Republican National Convention. That was one long boring few days. The only thing remembered from the convention is the Eastwood torturing a chair.
It is noted that Clinton needed no empty chair to harass in his excellent speech.
