Sloppy Joes

This recipe is kid tested. It is good on hamburger buns, cornbread or spooned over noodles.

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper, diced
  • 1 can of condensed tomato soup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of beef bullion
  • 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • Water

Brown the hamburger and onion over medium heat. Add the green pepper. Cook until the green pepper and onion is tender. Add the can of soup, the sugar, the mustard, bullion, Worcestershire sauce and the ketchup. Add enough water to thin to the right consistency. Cook over medium heat about 20 minutes, stirring often.

Other vegetables can be added if they are sliced thin or cooked first.
