Egg Burgers

This recipe isn’t as quick as the tuna burgers because you need to cook the eggs first. The recipe is easily doubled. Serve the patties on hamburger buns, English muffins, rye or any other type of sandwich bread. A slice of melted cheese, lettuce and tomato are good additions.


  • 4 hard boiled eggs, chopped
  • ½ cup celery, chopped
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons hot dog relish
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¾ cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil


Peel and chop the eggs, put in a bowl. Chop the celery and add to the eggs. Add the mayonnaise, hot dog relish, and salt. Mix well. Mix in the bread crumbs. Form into four patties. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the patties and cook about 2 minutes on each side.


If you do not have hot dog relish you can use some ketchup and pickle relish.

I usually add 2 tablespoons minced onion.
